The Accounting Manager is responsible for reporting and maintaining the books and records of their assigned business unit at the management reporting level. This individual will oversee and be responsible for the development of a staff / senior accountant as assigned and ensuring the group remains SOX compliant. This individual will be responsible for the preparation and review of various day-to-day accounting activities and monthly procedures, as assigned by the VP Assistant Divisional Controller.  The Accounting Manager will prepares monthly financial packages that include variance commentary, departmental downloads, departmental variance summaries, headcount summary, and accrual detail.  This individual coordinates monthly pre-close meetings with Business Planners to ensure financial results are activity based. In addition, the Accounting Manager will prepare and or approve journal entries to the general ledger monthly, gather and verify all monthly and quarterly intercompany support and reconciliations from third parties. 

The role is currently based Bethpage, NY with a future location change to Long Island City, NY in 2018.

•    Bachelors in Accounting or related field, CPA/MBA a plus
•    Minimum 5 years accounting experience
•    2 years prior supervisor experience
•    Strong accounting and analytical skills
•    Must be proficient in Excel and possess knowledge of automated environments.
•    Ability to establish relationships within all levels of the company
•    Experience with Oracle Financial System
