Job Summary
As a Security Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating and implementing changes to our firewalls, both on prem and cloud, and FT LTM/GTM infrastructure. You should be well versed in SSL PKI, IPSEC (S2S and RA), network troubleshooting concepts, and thinking critically to help troubleshoot issues that arise.
Responsibilities
- Assess service tickets and work with requestors to abide by a strict change management process.
- Schedule and implement firewall ACL modifications
- Packet captures and traffic flow analysis in a large enterprise setting
- Log analysis
- Modify VIPs and pool members
- Modify iRules and understand the core concepts of creating them
- Work within a PKI tool to update certificates and assure a timely implementation.
- Paket captures and traffic flow analysis in a large enterprise setting
- Generate CSRs and have the ability to add SANs and update ciphers as needed.
- Modify existing site to site IPSEC tunnels (route based and policy based)
- Troubleshoot live traffic over tunnels and provide insight for troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot remote access VPN issues, modify AD tags for group membership, and modify ACL entries for distinct group experiences.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including IT teams, management, and legal counsel, to provide updates on incident response activities.
- Prepare detailed incident reports documenting the timeline, impact, remediation actions, and lessons learned.
- Collaborate with external parties such as law enforcement, regulatory bodies, and third-party vendors as necessary.
- Participate in post-incident reviews and root cause analysis to identify gaps and weaknesses in existing security controls and processes.
- Propose and implement enhancements to incident response procedures, tools, and training programs to strengthen the organization's cyber resilience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; MA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum five years' experience in Information Technology
- Minimum three years of direct IT Security experience in Cyber Security operations or Incident Response
- Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CCNA-Sec, CCSA are preferred.

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $83,538.00 - $137,241.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
