Job Summary

Altice USA is seeking a Manager of B2B Telecom Engineering to lead a team of high-performing telecom engineers and operators to maintain and improve our B2B Telephony and Collaboration infrastructure and services. The candidate will play a key role in driving projects related to the design, integration, standardization, and hardware refresh and is responsible for the technical success of these projects. The candidate must be forward thinking and have a vision for the future of the network and team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the B2B Telecom Engineering team responsible for design, implementation, and support of all B2B Telecom voice projects and platforms.
  • Manage voice infrastructure and CPE life cycle, ensuring that it’s monitored and secure.
  • Provide strategic direction for technical projects including new designs, concept designs, and projects available for production.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise to the team in SIP and Voice network and platform design.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate both written and verbally with executives and business stakeholders.
  • Interdepartmental collaboration to achieve business objectives.
  • Maintain standard documentation including operations manuals, procedural documents, and network diagrams.
  • Create yearly budget requirements and present clear justification to executive management.
  • Generate and validate ROI and budget calculations for network solutions.
  • Provide technical oversight to engineering and operations teams.
  • Generate technical presentations based on results of design/testing and present to upper management.
  • Appropriately respond to and successfully deliver all ad hoc requests made by the management team.
  • Participate in advanced voice problem resolution.
  • Explore automation routines to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Manage implementation schedules and ensure proper communication to the business.
  • Provide escalation support and coordinate the team for major outages.

Qualifications

  • MS or BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience, relevant network certifications (SIP School, CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years experience managing a network/telecom engineering team
  • 7+ years experience in telecom engineering
  • Experience managing and deploying carrier grade voice network platforms
  • Experience with Metaswitch CFS/EAS, Perimeta SBC, Genband SBC or other carrier grade platforms
  • Experience troubleshooting complex SIP/RTP call flows for root cause analysis
  • Professional level knowledge of voice/collaboration protocols – SIP, RTP, RTCP, SRTP
  • Knowledge of network mechanisms - 802.1x, Tunneling, VPN, NAT, ACL, Load Balancing
  • Knowledge of routing protocols - BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, IS-IS, etc
  • Knowledge of network protocols – TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP, EAP, RADIUS, DHCP, DNS, HTTPS, LDAP, SNMP, IPSec, SSL/TLS, LACP
  • Knowledge of Cisco Routers and Switches
  • Basic knowledge of HFC and FTTx broadband network infrastructure
  • Experience with packet sniffing and Protocol Analysis Software
  • Professional level knowledge of network security best practices
  • Professional knowledge of network design to support high availability services
  • Industry certifications across several disciplines a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Superior documentation skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law.  Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $124,826.00  - $199,722.00 /year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
