TITLE: Instructional Designer
DEPARTMENT: SALES TRAINING
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Sales Enablement, this position performs independent-level work in program design and evaluation of assigned areas. Assures a positive impact on productivity and performance of Sales Personnel through effective research, design, development, and evaluation of training activities. Designs learning activities, assignments, and assessments. Creates computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards. Develops instructor's manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools. Collaborates with subject experts to develop course content. This specialist will provide design expertise at an exceptional level for audiences to include, Contact Center Sales, Field Sales, Retail Sales, Sales Operations and Enablement, and develop mastery level knowledge in all products, services, sales order entry and contact center tools, sales policies, procedures, and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all facets of curriculum development, including program management, needs assessment, and working with subject matter experts and learning specialists to ensure successful implementation of sales training.
- Maintain subject matter expertise of Altice USA's products and services with a focus on processes, systems and tools that provide an integrated end-to-end learning experience.
- Develop engaging and interactive content for a variety of formats, including blended eLearning/Instructor-led (ILT), social learning, mobile learning, simulation, and/or printed collateral.
- Scale and tailor writing styles as needed to pivot to diverse audiences and multiple deliverables staying true to Altice USA branding.
- Analyze learning needs based on consultation with people managers and subject matter experts.
- Recommend, develop, and evaluate emerging industry trends, topics, and issues to benchmark innovative learning solutions.
- Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to finalize strategy and create products based on agreed methodology and approval from business partners.
- Create measurement plans to evaluate training results against KPI's from implemented learning programs.
- Build partnerships and maintain meaningful relationships with key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree with a focus on professional and adult learning and development or related field, or 5+ years of instructional design experience supporting various sales functions including but not limited to call center, field, retail, and sales operations and support
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an ability to simplify technical and complex information into friendly and digestible formats
- Understanding of models of design (ADDIE), virtual facilitation tools (Teams and WebEx), and content or learning management/experience systems with a focus on interactive media, gamification, simulation, self-paced, and social learning
- Expert proficiency with eLearning authoring tools including but not limited to Articulate suite (Rise, Storyline, etc.), Adobe Captivate and Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.), Camtasia
- Experience with XHTML, CSS, ActionScript, JavaScript, and Final Cut Pro a plus.
- Highly organized, detailed-oriented, and self-directed
- High degree of flexibility with the ability to work effectively in a largely team-based, collaborative culture, where open communication and idea generation from all levels are encouraged - Ability to build strong relationships and navigate through stakeholder discussions
- Ability to take and synthesize critical feedback into innovative solutions and improvements in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment while meeting aggressive deadlines.
- Ability to become proficient with new tools and applications quickly
