Job Summary

The Director of Marketing & Partnerships - OTT Platforms will be responsible for driving growth, revenue and marketing efforts for News 12 New York. The position will lead partnership growth and provide leadership and support with current and future distribution partners. They will collaborate with the editorial team to create, develop, and drive marketing strategies, campaigns, and promotions for N12 New York original content shows, series, and segments. They will develop and implement strategic marketing plans and initiatives across channels to drive revenue, audience growth, retention, brand awareness and consideration. They will oversee the creation, management, coordination, and execution of all marketing strategies and implementation of all plans that support News 12NY.  

We are looking for an independent thinker and decision maker who is comfortable simultaneously operating at a high strategic level while also leading his/her team in the execution of marketing tactics and plans. The Director of Marketing & Partnerships will also lead internal and external teams to create impactful and dynamic campaigns pushing creative and technical boundaries to be best-in-class and support sales growth of the channels. 

Responsibilities

  • Creates & develops OTT partner relationships, identifying mktg opportunities for growth, new partner launches & syndication
  • Drives thought leadership within the evolving OTT space and advocates across the organization on behalf of partners & opportunities
  • Identifies revenue generating opportunities including partnerships, integrations & sponsorships
  • Leads development, execution, & assignment of owned and paid media campaigns across OTT and linear platforms 
  • Collaborates with editorial & talent teams on new campaigns & promotional opportunities across platforms, properties, and channels
  • Oversees direct reports in execution of mktg tactics to impact various segments in highly competitive areas, under penetrated segments or underperforming markets to improve market share and viewership
  • Leads development of creative & marketing tactics that support partnerships and sponsorships strategies to drive sales, engagement, and viewership
  • Tracks & monitors marketing performance, identifies issues/changes in performance and makes recommendations
  • Drives the mktg team to develop growth opportunities based on OTT, linear, & digital analytics 
  • Drives thinking on key business metrics for partnerships, taking responsibility for mobilizing partners and internal resources to execute to meet objectives 
  • Creates strategy documents, quarterly business reviews,& executive presentations
  • Develops highly effective, deep relationships with OTT & platform with a focus on growth activities
  • Develops strategies to increase awareness & viewership from different segments, and the development and delivery of customer engagement tactics through Mktg programs
  • Drives amplification of News12 NY programs, sponsorships, talent, & branded content
  • Develops custom marketing integrations and proposals for sales presentations and pitches 
  • Builds mktg campaigns that promote N12 NY, grows our audience/viewership, and secures new distribution sales launches  
  • Ensures campaigns & creative elements are on brand and achieve intended goals and KPIs 
  • Creates presentations, campaign proposals, and campaign recaps
  • Develops & manages budget for OTT programs, plans, and activities

Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S. degree in marketing, sales or related field is required 
  • 5-7 years exp in acquisition marketing/OTT marketing, growth, production, & content distribution at a digital platform or digital agencies servicing the OTT category
  • Solid understanding of OTT, linear, web metrics, digital analytics, and ability to generate, analyze & interpret data to inform the creative process
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, solve complex problems, & navigate large, organizations 
  • Initiative-taking, assertive, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment 
  • Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are necessary 
  • Exceptional business understanding & decision-making, leadership skills, communication, and people skills, to work with senior level executives within the leadership team & multi-functional partners across the organization
  • Creative thinker: idea generator, results & action-oriented, with the ability to translate results into proactive measures 
  • Exhibits confidence & positive attitude, highly diplomatic yet assertive, demonstrating passion for the network, brand, and inspiring others 
  • Strong & effective management skills & the ability to lead & direct internal / external resources with direct or indirect reporting structure 
  • Ability to work under limited supervision, in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, maintaining high quality, accuracy & consistency of deliverables

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $141,372.00 - $201,960.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
