Job Summary
Reporting to the Sr Director Business Planning - Field Operations, the Director Business Planning Field Service will primarily be responsible for FP&A for the company’s Field Service organization, including oversight of budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities. The successful leader in this role will be a proactive partner to business leadership to ensure successful delivery of operating and capital budget development and performance.
Responsibilities
Budget/Forecast
- Responsible for the development of strategic and financial aspects of annual budget/ monthly forecast
- Work collectively with business leaders to reflect operational and financial goals of the company
- Create presentations, which clearly speak to the financials, strategy, and goals
- Manage Time Studies, Workforce Planning Model, Cost Per Point/Truck Role Analyses, Field Service Capitalization Model
Month End Close
- Work closely with accounting department to ensure accurate and consistent recording of revenue and expenses
- Review and approve journal entries
- Ensure monthly entries are entered and posted in a timely manner
- Update and review each entity P&L
- Analyze and explain monthly variances, including cost / TR, FS Capitalization, among others
- Prepare and present various monthly schedules to reflect financial results
Business Leader Partnership
- Proactive partner to business leaders in achievement of operational and financial goals
- Update and review analysis outlining outcome vs plan and review with business leaders
- Develop solutions to deviations to align back with original plan
- Work with business leaders to identify saving opportunities and efficiencies
- Ensure operating departments are adhering to company policies and procedures
Manage salary and headcount for Field Service function
Develop vendor rate card proposals in collaboration with business leadership
Foster effective information flow and communication to ensure financial results and reports are consistent
Identify best practices to improve to current workflow and create efficiencies and consistencies across network
Assist with special projects and ad-hoc analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance. Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 12+ years of related experience with strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability taking accountability/ownership to drive results
- Ability to cultivate cooperative working relationships
- Demonstrated track record of adhering to deadlines while ensuring a high level of accuracy, professionalism, confidentiality, and quality
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including strong verbal & written communication skills
- Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Fast learner with the ability to identify problems and seek solutions
- Willing to be flexible and dedicate time outside of normal business hours at times in support of business needs
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and proficient in Oracle, Hyperion, and Essbase
