Job Summary

The Director of Planning & Engineering is responsible for leading the Planning & Engineering group within Construction-West. This Director will be responsible for developing the practices and procedures of the team and overseeing its operation. This will include overseeing forecasting, cost estimates & budget, invoice processing, and overall business operations of the construction department.

Responsibilities

Organize and manage the Planning & Engineering group responsible for: Fiber deployment Forecasting; Workflow systems; Business Operations; Cost Estimates; Budget Forecasting; Invoice processing
Develop special projects planning (e.g., RFOG -> FTTH conversion).
Organize the new cost estimates and review group.
Organize the evolution of workflow tools for Construction projects.
Manage the Construction invoices intake and processing.
Correlate and reconcile with Construction Budget and provide updated forecasting as needed.
Develop the budget and forecasting models for materials and new initiatives.
Document all process flows.
The following background is necessary:
- Management of Network function (Fiber design, Transport, IP)
- Track record in successful project delivery
- Planning and management of financial for telecom projects

Qualifications

Masters' degree of Telecom Engineering and 5 years of experience in telecommunications engineering with references in fiber deployment or Bachelor's degree of Telecom Engineering and 7 years of experience in telecommunications engineering with references in fiber deployment
2 years of network team management at manager level or above
5 years or more of experience in network planning or deployment
Skills - Fiber: Design, Budget, Feasibility Study, Deployment; Project Management: Project Plan, Project Manager; Strong leadership; Languages - English
