Job Summary

The Finance operations intern will be reporting to the Manager, Data Assurance and will be responsible for ongoing data cleanup, reporting and process improvements.

This position will provide broad exposure on business decision making and data analytics. The right candidate will possess excellent analytical and decision-making skills. The Business Planning intern will work with multiple departments to confirm issues and identify both corrective resolution related to data as well as changes to current processes. The role will not only learn telecommunication data and process, but will also get exposure to and the ability to work with other departments such as service delivery, sales operations, product and finance. The role will evolve as growth and knowledge increase leading to further opportunities for growth and development within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Audit data both within a single structure as well as comparative data across systems
  • Supporting historical data cleanup into go-forward model
  • Identifying “in-addition” gaps in data
  • Provide support across teams by participating in department-related and ancillary projects
  • Work collaboratively with sales, sales operations, service delivery, and product management teams
  • Presentations and ad hoc reporting as needed
  • Aptitude and desire for learning new/different processes within the company, with a drive to build a strong foundational skillset for a career at Lightpath

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Financial & analytical skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excel and Data management skills
  • Basic understanding of data related structures and impacts
  • Proactive, organized, and demonstrate a high level of self-motivation
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable working on a variety of different tasks
  • Prioritizes tasks based on immediate and evolving priority
  • Identifies errors in extracted data and makes appropriate corrections based on provided source documents
  • Works closely with the manager to maintain high quality standards
