Job Summary
The Senior Business Analyst’s primary objective is helping the business implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, developers and partners. The Business Analyst is responsible for the development of documentation for existing and proposed business processes and functional specifications. The BA will participate and help facilitate Participate in key meetings including requirement sessions, prioritization and status meetings, system demos, user acceptance testing, and end user training. This role will be focused on the implementation of system solutions to support Sales and Sales operations.
Responsibilities
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
- Prepares business and functional requirements and/or user stories for new systems and for updates to existing systems
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams, external vendors and support teams.
- Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
- Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
- Works with business to prioritize backlog of development work and ensure high priority, high value items are implemented in a timely manner to meet business expectations
- Throughout the development process works to ensure that results conform to defined requirements
- Works closely with end users and QA staff to develop required test data, support QA testing efforts, and lead end user UAT sessions.
- Works closely with business units to fully operationalize any new development and assure smooth functioning of processes and procedures
- Develops and maintains user documentation and instructions for all systems for which he or she is responsible
- Collaborates with other project teams tasked with identifying current and future business needs, and manage joint development efforts
- Works with and manages external vendors involved in development lifecycle
- Demonstrates understanding of project management. Documents and presents project status, meeting notes, action items and other documents as appropriate.
- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Applies excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, subject matter experts, vendors and technical resources
- Maintains a detailed understanding of assigned business process area(s) and maintains a broad understanding of the business as a whole
- Anticipates customers’ needs and reacts. Delivers results that drive customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Key Experiences/Achievements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business (or Management), Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or equivalent experience
- Experience working within a formal development methodology. Experience in Agile methodology such as Scrum strongly desired.
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM Products to develop client or business solutions
- Knowledge of Telecom business practices and/or industry with heavy focus on Sales processes and applications
- Experience documenting user stories and creating to-be process flow diagrams
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management as well as both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Ability to analyze data, trends or obstacles and consider available solutions or alternative methods of proceeding
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks.
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
- Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
