Job Summary
The Senior Director, Advertising & Creative Services will oversee all network acquisition & retention advertising campaigns and lead the overall brand strategy for the News 12, News12NY and Cheddar News. The position will also be responsible for collaborating with a4 Advertising on sales integrations. The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining a standard of design excellence for all visual aspects of the network brands including, but not limited to, on-air broadcast, digital & streaming properties. The Sr. Director Advertising & Creative Services will set the visual tone for the TV network and brand to elevate consumer perception of our content and brand in all touch-points while driving acquisition to grow the business
Responsibilities
- Creates strategic advertising campaigns to support acquisition, retention, & tune in efforts to meet subscriber growth goals
- Oversees all internal/ external on-air & editorial creative utilized in newscasts and original programming across all communications channels
- Build & manage internal ad agency & on-air creative teams and specialized vendors (copywriters, editors, illustrators, production houses, agencies) to deliver great work, on schedule and within budget
- Develop advertising campaigns for the launch of the network’s original series
- Develop effective partnerships with key stakeholders in & outside of Marketing including heads of Programming, Digital & Growth and Data & Analytics; News Directors, Marketing Directors
- Identify media channels & direct the placement of all advertisements & the development of all promotional materials
- Utilize metrics & data analytics to measure campaign effectiveness & assess return on investment
- Partner with Marketing leaders across the company to understand key mktg priorities & guide the creation of compelling creative work and campaigns that drive results
- Manage outside labor costs and production expense, providing accurate estimates based on current workload & prior year expenditures, and timely monthly forecasts
- Provide senior creative direction on all marketing needs across the organization including logo design, collateral development, advertising campaigns, brand guidelines, digital creative needs, copywriting, content creation (including video) and set design
- Create an inspired and exciting design culture within the creative team through training, idea sharing, and learning opportunities
- Monitor compelling messaging and communication tactics both within & beyond our industry to ensure we are current with the rapidly evolving Mktg landscape
- Evolve network brands & develop creative marketing strategies to embrace and leverage increasingly non-linear consumption patterns of today’s consumer
- Identify & integrate trends in marketing, advertising, and technology to the uber brand (i.e., AI)
- Ensure all product marketing collateral re-enforce strong brand identity & impactfully call out key product features
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related field, with writing emphasis preferred
- 15+ years’ exp in all forms of advertising media, including digital, news & original programming, and management
- Ad Agency experience strongly preferred
- Strong design skills highly preferred
- Marketing & team mgmnt experience with a media company, broadcast or cable news operation, streaming service, gaming, mobile, brand and/or marketing company or agency
- Exceptional business understanding & decision-making, leadership skills, communication, and interpersonal skills, to work with senior level executives within the leadership team and multi-functional partners across the organization; driving results by generating the right level of influence & buy in from key stakeholders
- Proven track record in building and leading a creative team
- Proven conceptual & design abilities
- Exhibits confidence & positive attitude, highly diplomatic yet assertive, demonstrating passion for the network, brand, and inspiring others
- Strong & effective project management skills & ability to lead and direct internal / external resources with direct or indirect reporting structure
- Results-oriented leader with ability to develop & communicate big-picture vision & strategy, and deliver results through practical, proactive, and disciplined execution
- Award-winning conceptual skills, plus a writing background & the talent to take advertising campaigns across diverse platforms
- Demonstrated success in developing strategies and roadmaps that directly led to measurable business results
- Possesses a self-starter mentality; Ability to work in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, maintaining high quality, accuracy, and consistency of deliverables
- A collaborative results-oriented working style
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office, the Adobe CC Suite with proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Illustrator, Knowledge of VizRT preferred
- Ability to travel up to 50% to tri-state Newsroom locations

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in New York state is $183,600.00 - $233,400.00 / year. The rate/Range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
