Job Summary

As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing concurrent complex projects from inception to successful completion. Your strong technical orientation, project management experience as well as business and financial acumen will enable you to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring the seamless execution of projects within time and budget constraints.

Responsibilities

•    Plan, execute, and monitor multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
•    Maintain consistent project documentation and adhere to defined standards.
•    Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
•    Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management plans; proactively address issues that may impact project timelines
•    Facilitate collaboration across departments to ensure successful project completion.
•    Lead the development of project proposals, project charters, risk analysis and project schedules, and ensure actual results are tracked against the stated cost-benefit and ROI projections.
•    Create workflows based on internal client/team feedback.
•    Perform appropriate scope analysis and lessons learned.
•    Creates and delivers information at the appropriate level for the audience, including presentations and status updates.
•    Lead cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment, guiding team members in project execution, and mentoring junior team members.
•    Oversee project budgets and resource allocation, ensuring optimal utilization of available resources and timely procurement when required.
•    Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for enhancing project management methodologies and practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum Master) are a plus
  • Minimum five years in technical project management with a focus on software development, engineering or IT
  • Minimum five years’ experience leading all aspects of large complex projects
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum, and other project management frameworks.  Experience with Jira
  • Experience with financial analysis, business planning, budget management; experience working with Procurement is highly preferred
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams effectively
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget
  • Adaptable and proactive problem solver, with a passion for innovation and continuous learning
  • Possess a strong foundation in software development, engineering, and IT environments with the ability to understand and contribute to technical discussions, providing valuable insights to the development team
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law.  Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $77,112.00  - $126,684.00 / year. The rate/Range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
