Job Summary
The Vice President, Vendor Management will oversee all third-party vendors and contractor relationship for the Field Operations organization, with a predominate focus on service and installation. The Vice President will ensure that vendors meet deliverables, stay in budget and are effective in delivering services. This leader will work cross functionally with Procurement, Legal, Operations and Information Technology to create and oversee key performance indicators as well meet corporate vendor requirements. As a member of the Field Service leadership team, this role will be responsible for providing two-way insight on vendors, cross functional partnership to improve process/impact with a goal of increasing both customer experience and employee experience in doing so.
Responsibilities
- Owns the relationship with established vendors in the field space and has a deep knowledge of the contracts in parallel to the organizations processes.
- Ensures vendor performance is regularly assessed and meets contractual/project requirements, following up with vendor when performance is not met with appropriate remedy plans on service and fiscal impacts based on the contract.
- Provide oversight to ensure vendor resources are in place and in partnership with key leadership members have region-specific plans developed and executed to achieve service and installation goals are met.
- Collaborates cross-functionally to understand and optimize process for Field Operations projects and initiatives as well as working with internal partners to validate or update KPIs and metrics.
- Identify key metrics and levers, monitoring results against goals via vendor scorecard, ensuring “get well” plans are in place timely and monitored.
- Lead the evaluation of outside service providers, vendors, and contractors; provide direction in the development of SOWs; participates in contract terms and condition negotiations.
- Develop RFPs for vendors and function as main POC on collecting feedback across field organization. Participating in RFP evaluation process as main business contact with Procurement.
- Build and maintain process for monitoring and quickly remedying vendor performance against contractual and project requirements
- In partnership with Procurement, optimize vendor onboarding process focusing on ensuring readiness day one with a focus on customer experience
- Manage vendor rate card with Procurement and Business Planning team
- Create synergy across the Field Operation’s vendor relationships and provide input on opportunities to consolidate, grow or re-think vendor options

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or operations. Equivalent years of work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Minimum 10 years’ experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in vendor management roles
- Management level experience in Telecommunications including experience in complex, multi-regional technology operations environments. Procurement and inventory management is preferred
- Experience in vendor pricing methods, rate cards and pricing methodologies is preferred
- Proven track record of building and facilitating strong relationships at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally; you can effectively communicate technology needs across multiple disciplines within the company
- Provides direction to their functional leads and regional process owners and can help provide recommendations and best practices for operational optimization, and cross utilization
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting capabilities
- Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to track and analyze data to show results
