Job Summary

The digital content producer is responsible for creating, curating, and optimizing multimedia content across web and social media platforms to enhance News 12’s online presence. They will collaborate with editorial teams to develop compelling stories, adapt traditional news coverage for digital consumption, and ensure content aligns with the organization's voice and standards. This role requires strong storytelling skills, technical proficiency, and an understanding of audience behavior in the digital landscape. The producer will work in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and edit digital-first news content, including articles, videos, graphics, and social media posts.
  • Optimize content for SEO and audience engagement across multiple digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with reporters, editors, and other news teams to enhance online storytelling and multimedia experiences.
  • Manage social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X), ensuring timely, accurate news distribution and audience engagement.
  • Edit and integrate videos to accompany digital stories and social media posts.
  • Send push alerts and update the website and social media during developing and breaking news events.
  • Monitor digital performance metrics and adjust content strategies to improve reach and engagement.
  • Stay current with emerging digital trends, tools, and best practices to drive innovation.
  • Ensure all content adheres to journalistic ethics and organizational standards.
  • Assist in live coverage, including streaming events and interactive content.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, media, journalism, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience developing and executing digital strategies in news or media environments
  • Proven success working in fast-paced, complex organizations (4+ years)
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn)
  • Skilled in writing headlines, longform news articles, and social media copy
  • Excellent verbal communication and collaborative skills
  • Strong analytical abilities with experience interpreting and communicating performance data
  • Proficient in digital content management tools and analytics platforms
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Capable of working independently and within large, cross-functional teams
  • Results-oriented and collaborative work style

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $64,260.00 - $105,570.00  / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
