  • Provide direct oversight and ongoing management of LightPath 3rd party Data Center network facilities.
  • Develop and manage relationships with all major data centers operators, negotiate long-term favorable MSA’s with data center operators
  • Act as the Lightpath agent for new data center deployments on behalf of the internal network planning team
  • Play an active role in the strategic network expansion planning; collaborate with Network Planning and Sales engineers to identify prospective data centers to support LigthPath growing and expanding fiber network.
  • Collaborate with sales and capacity engineers to gather detailed space requirements and ensure facilities are optimally designed
  • Work with internal sales and capacity planning engineers defining new data center deployment criteria while considering future growth capacity
  • Oversee the implementation of data center expansion, engaged data center engineers and design team ensure facility set up compliant with internal and industry standards
  • Ability to understand POE fiber route drawings and the definition of an innerduct and conduits; corrugated, EMT, HDPE, etc.
  • Strong understanding of the power types data centers offer; AC receptacle types, single-phase and three-phase, DC distribution types; Fuse panel and BDFB.  Knowledgeable in the difference between kW metered power and unmetered Amp breaker power.
  • Work with internal Lightpath teams to develop standards and configurations for small, medium, and large data center deployments to simplify the process of setting up a data center presence including generating standards for materials, power, and fiber connectivity to MMR.
  • Be able to work with Data Center operators for the purpose of facility audit, including Cross Connect, power, space, conduit, and recommending optimization strategic as necessary and appropriate
  • Collaborate with designer/architect and MEP contractor to develop a complete set of architectural and engineering plans, prepare programming requirements to be shared with the designer/architect.
  • Review schematic design with internal stakeholders. Communicate design modifications with the architect for plan revisions until a final schematic design is approved.
  • Place orders within data center portals for all aspect of services including space, new power and MMR fiber entrance requests, ability to manage various smart hand requirements
  • Develop an internal process for internal network-related cross-connect and disconnect orders.
  • Collaborate with Type II and other internal stakeholders to develop a system to manage our growing inventory of cross-connects and CFA’s
  • Assist in developing annual operating and capital budgets required for the ongoing maintenance and capital upgrades of all data center related facilities.
  • Analyze internal department processes to identify areas of improvement.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimal 5 year of Data Center management experience
  • Telecom experience required
  • Proven project management experience
  • Salesforce and Microsoft Office experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
