Job Summary
The Sr. Collections Coordinator minimizes outstanding receivables and bad debt though monitoring the overall collections workflow in partnership with supervisor. This role is responsible for researching, resolving and responding to complex customer situations, as well as providing guidance to Collections team members on daily tasks.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a point of escalations for any inquiries by Collections team members
- Coordinates the distribution of daily team workload and provides monthly audit reports to the supervisor for the measurement of individual and team performance
- Responds to the sensitive and complex customers issues and escalations, including payment arrangements, bankruptcy disputes, and probates
- Assists in maintaining and monitoring the integrity of all databases utilized by the Collections team
- Recognizes and responds to situations that may involve potential fraud activity
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies and seeks approval to implement from appropriate level of management
- Reviews, researches, and reconciles collections reporting prior to submitting to corporate accounting
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced education preferred
- Previous Collections or Customer Service experience required
- Experience applying independent judgment and decision making in a customer facing role preferred
- Knowledge of billing system collection modules and order processing, which is typically gained through experience in the Collections Coordinator role, preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
- Strong listening skills and a demonstrated track record of patience with challenging customer situations
- Excellent problem solving, conflict resolution, and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as required

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $42,000.00 - $69,000.00 /year. The rate/Range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
