Job Summary

The Data Analytics Manager is responsible for leading a team to provide custom analytics for various clients of a4 media. This includes multi-screen reporting and attribution analyses, requiring data integration and querying skills to mine for insights across numerous TV & Digital data sources. The Data Analytics Manager will be expected to work closely with the Sr. Director of Analytics & Insights to lead projects and allocate resources to meet timelines for deliverables. The Data Analytics Manager will also drive innovation within the team by applying creative technical approaches to ensure quality and leading-edge reporting and analytics. This position is also client facing and the Manager will be expected to articulate often complex technical matters in a clear and concise manner as a subject matter expert. This position will act as a technical liaison for other Data Management & Product Development functions within the organization, translating feedback gathered from client exposure in order to develop new analytic product offerings. The Data Analytics Manager will also mentor and develop the skills of Analysts on the team to enhance their career development and build flexibility within the team when managing project workloads. The Data Analytics Manager will be responsible for understanding the business objectives of a4 clients, mining data and ultimately analyzing, reporting and presenting those findings with actionable insights. To accomplish this, the incumbent must be intimately familiar with both internal and external data sources. The incumbent will need to access raw data via SQL programming and then aggregate to summarize results for use by the analysts and ultimately the clients. The Data Manager will also be expected to create complex ad hoc reports and analyses which require the use of multiple data stores and to acquire and stage data for use by numerous analysts within and outside the department. The Data Manager will analyze and recommend areas for additional analysis and troubleshoot automated processes as necessary. Key relationships and contacts are the Sr. Director of Analytics & Insights, Manager of Data Analytics (peer), Data Analysts, Director of Sales (custom analytics), Senior and Junior Account Executives, Director of Data Management, etc.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science/Information Science/ Business Analytics or related field or equivalent job experience (Graduate degree in related field preferred).
  • Strong SQL programming skills, data structure in relational databases, data manipulation and transformation knowledge required. Fluency with Python preferred.  
  • Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in data analysis and database systems.
  • Experience working with large datasets and cloud-based enterprise data warehouse (experience with RedShift/Google Big Query/Databricks preferred). 
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience, with the ability to train and lead a team.
  • Exceptional data, analytics, and quantitative acumen with understanding of tools like multi-touch attribution, data management platforms, customer segmentation, and/or similar experience such as predictive analytics.
  • Collaborate with Sales & Business Insights teams to define metrics, extract actionable insights and ensure timely delivery of reports and dashboards.
  • Lead development & automation of scalable tools, templates, and dashboards (using BI tools like Domo, Tableau, or similar).
  • Comfortable communicating with audience members across all management levels internally and externally.
  • Team oriented and collaborative approach with a demonstrated aptitude and willingness to learn new methods and tools.
  • Previous background in media analytics in a media agency or organization strongly preferred.

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $123,379.00 - $202,694.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
