Job Summary

Reporting to the VP of Product Design and Research, this role is responsible germinating all product design work related to customer and sales agent chat interactions including GenAI chatbot experiences and Voice UI (VUI). The ideal candidate has a passion for empathizing with users and should have experience designing natural conversational prompts, responses, chatbot and VUI workflows. The scope of this work will span residential and business channels as well as the internal tools that our front-line workers depend on.

This role will collaborate frequently with other product designers and UX Research to understand and mitigate customer and agent pain points while streamlining design patterns and workflows based on validated primary user intents across channels. Responsibilities

  • Lead design thinking discovery phase workshops to gather inputs, identify opportunities, and align stakeholders on a shared mission
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Product Design on design strategy and principles 
  • Collaborate with UX Research to understand and empathize with our business customers, and to test hypothesis and solutions ahead of and after development 
  • Collaborate with the Design Systems lead to plan, instantiate, and maintain an extensible component library based on atomic design 
  • Collaborate with Brand for brand voice in prompts and responses 
  • Be a co-author of all requirements that impact the user experience, and participate in requirements gathering, story grooming, and program increment rituals 
  • Evangelize best practices and data-driven decisioning
  • Organize features and workflows around intuitive organizing principles to establish and maintain an extensive and modular information architecture 
  • Create and deliver all design work product   

Qualifications

  • 8+ years Product Design Experience  
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience 
  • 5+ years designing with components and DS libraries in Figma and/or Sketch App 
  • 3+ years Chatbot and VUI design experience 
  • Multimodal interaction design 
  • Voiceflow or Google DialogFlow experience is a plus 
  • Exceptional writing and grammar skills and/or copywriting strongly desired 
  • 5+ years experience working collaboratively within JIRA for tracking deliverables/tasks as a single source of truth 
  • Expert in color theory, typography, iconography  
  • Versed in voice, mobile, and desktop interaction patterns  
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating past work  (please include a link in your resume or on the application under "web page or demo reel")
  • A scrutinizing eye for design  
  • Copywriting experience with samples 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills  
  • Proactive and self-motivated  
  • Accurate estimation and timely delivery

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $133,661.00 - $219,586.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
