Job Summary

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join our dynamic legal department at Lightpath. As a Legal Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to various legal matters and projects within a fast-paced environment. This position offers exposure to a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, litigation and dispute resolution, employment law, compliance, and regulatory issues.

Responsibilities

 

  •  Assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and corporate policies.
  •  Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
  •  Assist with the preparation and organization of legal documentation for corporate transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, and financing rounds.
  •  Collaborate with members of the legal team to analyze and assess legal risks associated with business operations and strategic initiatives.
  •  Support the implementation and maintenance of compliance programs, including policies, document retention, privacy, and other regulatory requirements.
  •  Provide general administrative support to the legal department, such as records management, scheduling meetings, and coordinating communication with external parties.
  •  Stay updated on legal developments and industry trends relevant to the technology sector.

Qualifications

 

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited law school or recent law school graduate.
  • Strong academic background with coursework in contracts, business law, and legal research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. The pay range at the time of posting in the specified locations is $20.00 - $30.00/hour. Pay ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience.
